The Sailor Corellia Saga

Chapter 3

By Chirudo ChibiSuta/Sailor Corellia

Three young girls sat in a bedroom decked out in green, orange, and white. One girl had very dark brown hair and glittering brandy-brown eyes. She wore a dark green long-sleeved shirt, khaki-colored cargo pants, and dark green glittery boots. She sat on the bed with a thick Bishoujo Senshi Se-ra Mu-n in her hands, her hair down, being done by another girl who sat on her knees behind the first girl. Her hair was sandy blonde, with red stripes down the top of her Gungan eyes-and-ears pigtails, and sparkling blue eyes. She wore a pale blue tank top, cargo pants, boots, and a silver armlet around her right upper arm. She was trying out various braids, ponytails, buns, and coils on the brunette's thick, shiny hair.

Stretched across the foot of the bed with a sketchbook was a young girl with purple hair in Dathomirian warrior braids, layered bangs, and icy blue eyes. She wore a lavender turtleneck, a black denim vest, and baggy blue-jean-type pants with numerous pockets. On her feet were a pair of well-loved dark purple converse all-stars. She was drawing a picture of her idol, Sailor Saturn, whom she'd heard numerous stories about from her mother. Her picture was a detailed drawing of Saturn holding her Silence Glaive out in front of her, a determined expression on her face.

The brunette looked up from her manga at the purple-hair. "Hey Imouto-san, what are you drawing?" She leaned forward slightly, but the blonde doing her hair poked her, so she sat back again.

"Sailor Saturn." The young girl held up the almost-complete picture. "All I have to do is her eyes and Glaive."

The blonde peered at the drawing. "That's a wonderful picture, Neburaa. You have a real talent!"

"Thank you, Kairi-chan." Neburaa appreciated any feedback she got on her pictures.

The brunette went back to her manga. Kairiku finally found a good hairstyle for her. "There, Suta-chan, tell me what you think."

Suta-chan carefully stood up and walked over to the full-length mirror in one corner of her room. Her hair was in multiple braids, one thick one wrapped around her head, like Leia on Hoth, and others were in little loops at the back of it, over the braid. She smiled. "I love it, Kairi-chan!" she exclaimed, running over and hugging the other girl.

"It looks great, ChibiSuta," Neburaa commented. "You look a lot like Mom with your hair like that."

"You think so?" It was ChibiSuta's dream to be like her mother, because she was so beautiful and a powerful Jedi. She always wore her hair like her own mother's, ChibiSuta's grandmother, and loved playing with her girls' hair.

Neburaa jumped off the bed and hugged her older sister. "I know so, Onee-san."

ChibiSuta patted her little sister on the head and smiled. She looked over at Kairiku. "They do grow on you." She giggled.

"Not that I'd know, being an only child and all," Kairiku said, a bit sadly.

"Wanna borrow one? I got another one at home just like this one!" ChibiSuta chuckled, and Neburaa scowled playfully.

Kairiku laughed. "No thanks."

Elsewhere, in another part of Coruscant, two creatures of darkness were holding a discussion.

"So the Jedi Princess has not been captured yet, my servant?" a male voice snarled.

"No, sire. She has thus far eluded the grasp of Sailor Sith Eimin. I have put Sith Iyagaru in charge of the operation now," a female voice regrettably said.

"If your next lackey fails me, Kendra, you will suffer as well. I do not like having to wait for you to give me results."

Kendra winced. "I will not fail you, Lord Sidious."

"You had better not," Sidious said simply. He wavered, and a bit of static flashed strangely across him. "Until you have results, I suggest you not contact me." With that he disappeared, nothing more than a hologram.

Kendra sighed. "I will not fail you, my Lord," she muttered. She then raised her voice. "Sith Iyagaru! Come forth!"

A form stepped out of the shadows. It was feminine in shape, wearing about the same as Sith Eimin, albeit no gold, and her hair was black with dark red streaks running through it. Her black cape brushed her ankles. "You called me, Mistress?"

"Yes. You know your duty, Sith Iyagaru. Find that Princess brat and bring her to me!" Kendra snarled. "Or else you will end up like Sith Eimin, whimpering over your wounds in a bacta tank!"

"Yes, mistress. I will not fail you." She turned and exited the room in search of her prey.

Kendra laughed evilly. "This time, princess, you have no chances left."

Back on the other side of Coruscant, our "princess" was getting compliment after compliment for her hair. Yukiko, Sailor Hoth, asked her who did it, and when she pointed to Kairiku, who was walking with her, Yukiko ran to her room to work on her own hair. Neburaa had gone off to supposedly help Nom with her ship, but all she was really doing was driving Nom insane. Nom, although she was basically lacking emotion, was exasperated at the clumsy child.

ChibiSuta and Kairiku, after strolling around the Jedi Temple for hours, decided to go find some ice cream. They were back at the shopping center, and ChibiSuta was trying to not look in the stores they passed.

Kairiku looked around. "Where's a Marble Slab when you need one?"

"What's a 'Marble Slab'?" ChibiSuta wondered back, a confused look on her face.

"Nothing, nevermind." Kairiku guided her into the ice cream shop.

They soon sat down with almost endless banana splits. ChibiSuta's was basically chocolate covered chocolate, and Kairiku's was chocolate, vanilla, and peanut butter ice cream covered with chocolate syrup. They stared at their ice cream and started trading different flavors. They ended up with basically chocolate, vanilla, and peanut butter mush, because the trading mixed up the flavors.

"You know," ChibiSuta said around a mouthful of ice mush, "this is the most fun I've had in my entire life!"

"I agree completely, Suta-chan!" Kairiku exclaimed.

Just then a caped, shadowy figure entered the Ice Cream Shop. It snarled, dashing straight for ChibiSuta.

"What the..?" ChibiSuta jumped out of the way, dumping her ice cream on the figure's head. She stood and reached into one of her pockets. Pulling something out, she ran to the ladies' room. She stepped out as the figure had gotten off the floor. Her hair was still in its braids.

"Hold it right there, creep! How dare you spoil these peoples' pleasure by barging in here! A planet of serenity is my guardian deity. For magic and strength, with the Force as my guide, I'll make you pay! I'm Sailor Corellia!" She spun her staff, and pointed the business end at the mysterious figure.

Finally the light hit the person just right. She wore red Seifuku (sailorfuku) with black trimmings. Her hair was black with dark red streaks in it, and her eyes were a sickening black. She snarled at the young senshi. "Hello, princess. You have a date with destiny!" With that, the sailor look-alike grabbed Corellia and disappeared.

Kairiku stook in shock. She'd just lost her best friend. She turned and ran from the ice cream shop, her well-trained legs taking her to the Jedi Temple. She tried to hold back tears.

Meanwhile, Kendra was most pleased. "Well done, my servant! You will be rewarded!"

"Thank you, my mistress." Sith Iyagaru left Kendra and Sailor Corellia alone. Corellia was bound by thick ropes coursing with dark energy, and if she struggled, waves of electricity zapped her painfully. She sat on a black slab of cold marble. Her seifuku was ripped in several places from her earlier struggle against Iyagaru, trying to wrestle her to the ground. She had a slash across her cheek, but not serious, from her own staff, which was now in Kendra's hands.

"You'll never get away with this!" she shouted and secretly turned on her wrist communicator. She tuned it to all the senshi's comms and turned off the audio output. "I have powerful friends!"

Kendra laughed. "Your so-called 'powerful friends' are not even aware of your disappearance! Why should they come searching for you, anyhow?"

"What do you mean?" Corellia looked puzzled.

"I mean that they don't really care what happens to you! Especially not that brat Chibi Naboo!" Kendra sneered.

Corellia looked shocked. Kendra knew exactly what buttons to push.

But then something happened. Corellia closed her eyes, and her brooch glowed brilliantly. The ropes disintegrated, and her whole body began to glow. She opened her eyes, held up her arms, and a green glow formed between her hands. An instrumental version of Savage Garden's "The Best Thing" began playing as her Seifuku morphed into a long dress of dark green with an orange sash tied around her waist and criscross straps in the back. Her hair came loose and swirled up into its odango-style. A silver tiara shined across the crown of her head, and a green four-pointed star appeared on her forehead. A green crystal appeared between her hands.

"Kendra, you should never have come after me!" Her voice had a heavy royal accent to it. "Now you shall know what a true princess can do!"

Kendra just stared with her mouth hanging open. She didn't know the brat had a crystal!

ChibiSuta, now Princess Corellia, took this opportunity to attack. "Crystal Shower!" Millions of orange and green crystal shards flew from her crystal at Kendra, cutting her arms, legs, and nearly missing her head.

Kendra screamed in rage. "HOW DARE YOU ATTACK ME!"

"And how dare you attack my best friend!"

"And my sister!"

Five figures stepped out from the shadows. Three of them were quite tall, one almost two meters in height. The other two were shorter, and one was in a pale lavender dress identical to ChibiSuta's. She stepped into the light and stared at Kendra. "You should know better than to attack her! She's beat you once and she'll beat you again!"

Sailors Vjun, Hoth, Dathomir, and Chibi Naboo stepped up behind the young princess. Sailor Chibi Naboo spoke first.

"Here's one thing you need to learn, Kendra. Know your enemy. You've made some pretty big assumptions about us, and we're here to tell you, you're wrong!"

Princess Corellia thrust her crystal forward and pulled the Force in. She channeled its energy through the crystal to form a large ball of orange energy.

"C'mon! We have to help her!" Princess Neburaa channeled her own energy into the crystal, and the energy ball shifted from orange to a purplish red.

Vjun, Hoth, Dathomir, and Chibi Naboo all took places at Princess Neburaa's left and right, linking hands. The energy ball coursed with pale swampy turquoise, black, dark green, and icy blue. It bathed the Sailor Jedi and the two princesses in an eerie glow, making their faces dark and their seifuku look like it was glowing.

Princess Corellia felt the energy connect, and at just the right moment, held the crystal above her head again. "Now Kendra, time for you to MEET YOUR MAKER!" she yelled and let the energy fly. It hit Kendra full in the left side, making her fly about ten meters back from where she stood.

Kendra, weak and injured, let fly a few choice curses and disappeared through a bolthole before Princess Corellia could power up for another round.

And that was just as well, because Princess Corellia collapsed right after she let the energy ball go. Her crystal, its purpose fulfilled, slowly floated down to the girl's chest and formed into a new brooch, a four pointed star within a golden circlet. After that, she powered down from princess to senshi, then back to plain old ChibiSuta.

Neburaa and the other senshi had de-transformed by then and rushed over to her motionless form. "ChibiSuta! ChibiSuta, wake up!" Neburaa cradled her older sister's head on her knees, the other senshi kneeling around ChibiSuta. Kairiku was nearest to Neburaa and rubbed the young girl's back, more for her own comfort than the nine-year-old's. She was crying, but she mostly kept her bearings.

Mara pushed some of ChibiSuta's bangs out of the girl's face. She swore that this youngster looked an awful lot like her lost love. Mostly it was the curviture of the girl's cheek bones and jaw line. Mara looked up at Neburaa and noticed the same subtle likeness. Neburaa, too, looked at Mara, and it hit her like a ton of bantha fodder.

"Aunt Mara?" the girl asked tentatively.

Mara sort of liked the ring of that, but she had no idea how the girl was related to her. "Why'd you call me that? How'm I your aunt?"

"My mom's Jaina Solo, daughter of Leia Organa Solo," she said quietly, sadly staring at her shallow-breathing sister.

Mara was a bit shocked. These girls were directly related to Luke! "Tell me, do you have any uncles?"

Neburaa nodded solemnly. "His name's Luke Skywalker. He taught me and Suta everything we know about being Jedi."

By now Mara's eyes were quivering. These children were a second generation of Luke's Jedi students, born of his sister's own daughter!

Nom, the oldest of the group there, stood and retrieved ChibiSuta's staff, which remarkably hadn't disappeared with the rest of the girl's seifuku. The woman lay the staff next to its owner and returned to where she knelt. Yukiko stared at ChibiSuta, her eyes slightly unfocused, trying to sense the girl's condition, but she was having a bit of difficulty because the girl had her presence so efficiently, yet unintentionally, shielded. Mara wiped a tear off her cheek and pushed her reddish hair out of her face.

Yet while she was being watched by these protective senshi, she was partially conscious. ChibiSuta slowly opened her dark eyes and slowly moved one hand up to grab the compact sitting on her chest. She spoke, her voice quiet. "Well what are you guys boo-hooing about?"

Kairiku jumped at the statement. "What the..? Suta-chan, you're awake!"

ChibiSuta smirked. "Well, at least I'm not dead," she retorted sarcastically, and with the help of her little sister sat up. She crossed her legs and rested her elbows on her knees for balance.

Mara, a bit emotional, hugged the young girl. "Oh thank the Force you're all right!"

ChibiSuta had a strange look on her face. She was wondering why this particular senshi was showing so much concern for her. Mara pulled back and sat with Nom and Yukiko. Yukiko had given up her Force-search, and her ice-blue eyes and hair glittered in the moderate lighting. Kairiku and Neburaa sat basically side by side with ChibiSuta, Neburaa a bit behind ChibiSuta, in case her strength failed. ChibiSuta was running through the list of people she knew, and a particular person stuck out beyond the rest. She looked back over her shoulder at Neburaa, got a slight nod, and turned back to Mara and the others.

"Aunt Mara?! H-how'd you--I mean-" she stuttered.

Mara smiled at the preteen's predicament."It's okay, ChibiSuta. I understand it's kind of a shock, it was for me too. By the way, what is ChibiSuta short for?"

ChibiSuta thought for a bit. She'd been called Chibi since she was a baby. But it stood for something... "Sutaru."

"Well, I think Sutaru is more fitting for a heroine like you! Without your strength, Kendra'd have been able to have her way!"

"I agree with Mara! And I think Sutaru's a pretty name!" Yukiko commented.

"Thanks you guys! Besides, I'm about to be thirteen, and I'm not a 'chibi' anymore!" ChibiSuta, now Sutaru, beamed.

Neburaa and Kairiku, satisfied that Sutaru was fully recovered, wrapped their arms around the girl. Neburaa buried her red, tearstreaked face into her sister's stomach, her shoulders shaking with her tears. Kairiku rested her head on Sutaru's shoulder, and Sutaru hugged them both, tears welling up in her eyes. Then she looked over at Mara, smiled, and pulled away from the other girls. With Neburaa hot on her heels, she ran over to Mara and wrapped a fierce hug around her.

"Oh my gods, I didn't know if I'd ever see you again!" Sutaru and Neburaa clung to Mara, with the others looking on with strange looks on their faces. Neburaa glanced at Nom, got a slight nod, and drifted away from Sutaru and Mara.

Mara and Sutaru finally looked at the rest of the group, and the awkward silence lifted. Sutaru's face lit up as an idea hit her. "Hey everybody! How about we go get ice cream?" She then grabbed her staff, and it shrunk down into a mini-wand. Sticking it in her pocket, she watched the others' reactions. Kairiku's face brightened, Yuki drooled a little, and Neburaa nodded, making her braids fall over her shoulders. Mara smiled, her emerald eyes sparkling and red hair glimmering.

"Yeah!" came five loud, although feminine, voices. They all started walking together, when Yukiko piped up, "Where are we?"
