The Elusive Sith, Part I

By Chikako/Sailor Myrkr

"Stupid Sailor Senshi," Emi muttered. "I cannot wait to destroy them! If they didn't exist, we could spend the whole day just playing Sabacc... or... something."

"I wouldn't want to spend the whole day playing Sabacc," Geri said. "I hate card games. I wouldn't even want to play Go Fish."

Emi ignored her. "But no, we have to be on stupid missions like this!"

"This isn't even a mission -- it's an errand."

"Would you two STOP?" Areil growled. The three Sailor Sith were crowded into a little fighter headed toward Hoth, and were beginning to get a little irritable, even for Sith. "This 'errand' is actually sort of important!"

"Well I'm sorry!" Emi snapped. "Look, I want to kill off the Jedi just as much as the next guy, but I am so sick of chasing those little girls all over the Galaxy at the Queen's whim. And when we actually do get rid of them, she is going to take all the glory - "

"This 'whim' happens to have come from Darth Sidious," Areil interrupted.

"Well maybe you should talk to him about it, Emi," Geri suggested, putting a condescending hand on her shoulder. "I'm sure his Lordship would value your opinion greatly."

"Shut up Geri!" Emi squawked, pushing the hand off her shoulder. "You make me sick. As soon as I kill those Sailor brats, I'm going to kill you."

"I'm terrified. Really."

"Quiet! We're approaching Hoth," Areil said. "And when I tell the Queen how you two are acting, she is not going to be pleased."

"You're a suck up," Emi scowled.

"Fine! But if you would even pretend to be on the same side for even a moment, we'd have those Senshi by now!"

"It's not MY fault," Emi insisted.

Geri snickered. "She started it!" she said in a mimicking voice.

"See?"

Areil took a deep breath, letting the negative energy build up inside -- the trick would be saving it for the Sailor Senshi rather than using it to decapitate her fellow Sith.

"Is she not awesome?" Kyoko said.

"Wow..." Zyta breathed.

"She's not bad," Megami shrugged.

"Not bad?!" Chibisuta and Annika said in unison, tearing their eyes away from the show for a moment to stare at Megami. The Sailor Scouts stood awestruck at the top of a small, snow covered hill. Below them and on the surrounding hills, Yukiko was zipping up and down slopes, spinning, leaping, even flying right over the Senshis' heads and making a perfect landing only to vault off another hill and spiral even higher through the frosty Hoth air.

"I have never seen anything like this," an stonished Chikako said.

"I want to try!" Priire exclaimed, jumping onto the nearest snowboard.

"Wait! Priire!!" Ippin shrieked, diving after her. But it was too late: Priire was halfway down the hill, blonde braids flying behind her, and Ippin was face down in the snow.

"She is RECKLESS!" Numako squealed as Koumi and Zyta helped Ippin back to her feet. "But try I want to also!" she sang, hopping onto another snowboard. The other Senshi gasped as the two amatuers sped screaming down the first hill. They gained some confidence when they hadn't fallen yet, but only made it half way up the second hill before Priire slowed to a stop, then slid down backwards into a snowbank. Numako lost momentum next, screamed, and dropped right on top of Priire.

"Who needs Sailor Sith," Annika sighed, "when you've got snowboards?"

Emi, Geri, and Areil stumbled out of the fighter and surveyed Hoth's landscape: a perpetual blizzzard.

"How are we supposed to find them?" Emi asked.

Geri scanned the area. "There's nothing nearby. Send some probe droids."

After they released the probes, Emi climbed back into the fighter to get out of the wind. "What are we going to do when we find them?" she called to the other two. "Kill as many as we can before they think to fight back?"

"No, we are going to do exactly as we were told," Areil insisted.

"Areil wants to do what the Queen commanded? Gee, isn't THAT a shocker!" Geri said.

"You mean we really ARE just going to show up, threaten them, and leave when they start to attack? How boring!"

"It's not just boring, it's humilating!" Geri spat. "I don't want those stupid kids thinking we're cowards."

"Does it matter what they think? Soon we'll be the ones slaughtering them," Areil assured them. "But for now, Lord Sidious just wants their slime off the planet. Let's do what he says."

"So Kendra can take the credit," Geri mumbled.

"As soon as they realize we're here," Areil continued, "they'll leave the planet to 'regroup' or something. They always do that."

"No they don't."

"Yes they do!"

"No they - "

"Probe's here," Emi said, jumping out of the fighter and getting the probe droid's reading.

Areil started walking. "Let's go!"

"Numa-chan! Priire!" the Senshi cried, trying to make their way down the icy hill.

"OOF!" Chibisuta grunted, slipping and ending up on her back-end. "Oh, wait a minute," she said as she started sliding. "Hey, this works much better!" She passed the other girls and reached the bottom safely and quickly, though a bit wet.

"Cool!" Chikako said. Her and the others sat down, followed Chibisuta's example, and soon joined her at the foot of the hill. Yukiko had reached Priire and Numako by now, and the others ran over to them.

"Are you okay?" Zyta cried.

"Get... off me, Numako!" Priire grunted.

"Trying I am!"

The other girls helped their friends out of the snow. "How do you feel?" Kyoko asked.

Numako looked for a second like she was going to faint, but slowly got to her feet. "Again I want to do it!"

Priire stood, too. "Race you to the top!" she challenged. The two took off running and the other Senshi groaned and started climbing back up.

"There they are," Areil whispered, peeking just over a snowy hill at the the climbing Senshi.

"That's them, eh?" Emi said. "This is great! Now we know who they all are when not disguised!"

"You can tell under all that snow gear?" Geri asked.

Emi thought about that. It was true, the Senshi were just as disguised as ever. "Well," she sighed, "at least we know what their winter coats look like..."

"Are we ready yet?" Areil snapped.

Emi glared at her and jumped on top of the hill.

"I hope you Sailor jerks enjoyed sliding down that hill," Emi shouted. "'Cause we're about to take you for another ride!"

"The Sailor Sith!" Annika gasped. "Everybody, transform! Bakura Power..."

"Tatooine Power..."

"Corellia Power..."

"Myrkr Power..."

"Yavin Power..."

"Asteroid Power..."

"Dagobah Power..."

"Vjun Power..."

"Kessel Power..."

"Hoth Power..."

Naboo POWER..."

"MAKE-UP!!" they all shouted together.

A moment later, they were all posed in attack position, "I don't know who you think you are, Sith," Sailor Naboo said, "but we've had enough of you, and your Evil Queen, too, wherever she's hiding. I am the pretty soldier in a sailor suit: Sailor Naboo! And these are my friends!"

"We are the sworn defenders of the Galaxy," Sailor Tatooine took over, "and dangerous enemies to Sith trash like you!"

"We fight for peace, love, justice, and... and a whole bunch of other good stuff!" Sailor Bakura announced. "And YOU have disturbed our PEACE!"

"And with your evil hearts, you have tainted the purity of my guardian planet, Hoth," Sailor Hoth said coldly. "And I will punish you!"

Sailor Corellia let a slight smile cross her face. "You've messed with the wrooong chicks!"

"For this ice planet, for the Galaxy," the Senshi said together, "and for the Stars! You will be defeated!"

"Isn't that cute," Geri laughed harshly, standing up next to Emi.

"Adorable," Areil scoffed, stepping between them with her arms crossed.

"Oh, we'll show you cute!" Sailor Asteroid shouted. "Asteroid Shower..."

"Tatooine Twin Suns..."

"Power!"

"Blind!"

"Eeeep!" Emi shrieked, jumping out of the way just befofre a rain of fiery hot asteroids crushed her.

"Sithspit," Asteroid mumbled. "We missd 'em."

"I thought we were going to split before they attacked!" Emi said fiercely, looking at Areil.

"Just wait!" she barked, and turned to the Senshi. "Obviously, you presumptuous brats haven't yet learned what you're dealing with! I am Sailor Sith Ayameru, Second in Command to the Evil Queen of the Sith, Kougo Ada."

"And I am Sailor Sith Iyagaru, committed to destroying the Jedi forever, every one of you, and anything that gets in my way."

Emi jumped next to her just in time. "And I am Sailor Sith Eimin, who happens to be throroughly sick of you Sailor Freaks! Prepare to be vanquished!" she screamed, preparing to attack.

"I think not," Sailor Bakura said. "Sailor Naboo?"

"Right," Naboo said. "Jewel of Zenda..."

"Peace and Love..."

"STOP!" Myrkr finished for them. "They're gone!"

"Huh?" The Senshi stood still, watching their backs and looking around. "Where'd they go?"

"Look!" Corellia yelled, pointing at the sky. Everyone looked just in time to see a small fighter disappear into the thick bright grey clouds.

"That was them," Kessell said, reaching out with the Force. Yavin nodded in agreement. "But where are they going? They usually stick around longer than that."

"Part of some plan it is," Dagobah said confidently.

"Probably," Tatooine swaid, staring at the sky. "But what?"

"They would've been so easy to destroy!" Emi whined. "I'm sure if the Queen had known only half of them would be there, she wouldn't have minded."

The three Sailor Sith were cramped into the fighter again, heading back toward Kougo Ada's ship. Areil, so far, was enduring Emi. Geri was still staring out the window at Hoth, hoping to see the Senshis' ship bast into orbit so she'd know the mission was a success.

Emi kept going. "There's no way we'll be so lucky next time. Like they're going to split up after the threats we made - !"

"Why does Sidious want them off Hoth?" Geri interrupted, turning away from the window.

Areil shrugged. "Maybe he knows where they'll go next and has an ambush waiting. Or maybe he's having a Sith Lords' Convention on Hoth and doesn't want any disturbances."

"Right." Geri rolled her eyes and turned back to the window.

But Emi took it and ran. "Why don't WE ever get invited to Sith conventions? So what if we haven't been on the scene that long, we're just as important as any of those scrubby Darth whatevers - "

"Emi, she was joking," Geri snapped.

"So was I," Emi insisted.

"Uh huh."

"I don't want to stay here anymore," Sailor Corellia said to Sailor Chibi Naboo through her communicator.

"Oh, here's Sailor Bespin," Chibi Naboo said. For a minute, Corellia saw nothing but a waterfall and part of Bespin's braid. Finally, Sailor Bespin herself apeared. Her face was a bit pink from running through the Jedi Temple, and she was smiling.

"Master Yoda, Solai, and Schylar all agree that it's safe for you to return," she grinned breathlessly. "Just 'BE CAREFUL,' Yoda said. And, um, be mindful of the living Force!"

"Sailor Bespin, did you add that part?" Sailor Hoth said over Corellia's shoulder.

"Yes," she giggled. "But I'm sure he would've said it had he thought about it."

"All right then!" Sailor Naboo said. "Let's book it!"

Back in the Room-Behind-The-Waterfall, all of the Senshi were united over delicious Hapan style pastries. The Jedi Temple was secure and the trip back from Hoth had gone smoothly, but nobody could guess where the Sailor Sith were or what they were up to.

"Maybe they were just trying to scare us," Zyta suggested.

Audra shook her head. "That's not like them."

"You're right," Zyta agreed. "What are we going to do?"

"Nothing right now," Tuxedo Jedi said, helping himself to another pastry. Kumoko nudged him till he got one for her too.

"You mean just wait?" Kairiku asked skeptically.

"Do we have a choice?" Xarae said.

"No, we don't," Kyoko answered. "Let's stay here for now. But be ready to go at the drop of a - "

"More goodies, everybody!" Annika announced, coming into the room with a tray of pastries.

"Wait, Annika!" Ippin shouted. "Solai!" But it was too late. Before either one knew it, Solai was tangled up in Annika's feet and both her and the pastries went flying.

"Oh no!" Priire squealed. "The pastries!"

"Annika, are you all right?" Mori asked, helping her up.

"Fine," she replied a bit curtly. "Am I blushing?" she whispered to Mori.

Chrone smiled a little. "What was that, Kyoko? 'Be ready to go at the drop of a...'"

"Um... Hapan pastry?"

"Hurry up!" Yukiko cried. "We can still eat these if we pick 'em up in five seconds!"

"What?? Is that an earth rule?" Oola asked. But nobody answered -- they were too busy picking up pastries.
