The Unexpected Guest

Written by Guarudenau Souru/Corellian Knight

The seal was broken, letting out all that was trapped within the space-time void. It sat there for over twenty years just drifting though space like an asteroid. Now, after the curse was lifted, the egg-like void started to shatter and glow with an amazing light. Down on Corellia, the planet that the void orbited, everything was fine; the void was unnoticable in the early morning. Suddenly a beam of light flew the middle of the object down towards the planet below, cutting through the atmosphere like a hot knife through butter. Five seconds later it was over, and the void collapsed in on it self.

Souru woke with in a cold sweat. "What the heck was that?" Souru asked himself as he wiped the sweat of his forehead.

"Must of been a bad dream, do you remember what happened?" Apollo asked from the end of the bed.

"Not really. It felt as if something from long ago was... to be honest, I'm not even sure what happened, all I remember is that there was a bright light, and then I woke up." Souru responded as he turned to get out of the bed, making sure he didn't wake up Jaina. "Let's go get some breakfast, Apollo, and get to work on training some more," he continued as he got out of bed and put on his housecoat and slippers.

Apollo jumped of the end of the bed and raced towards the kitchen. I don't think so, cat, Souru thought to himself as he faded out. Apollo reached the kitchen in his best time yet, but to no avail - Souru was sitting in his seat drinking his coffee. Souru looked up from his coffee cup to look at a shocked Apollo. "What's up, pussycat?" Souru joked as he started to chuckle. Apollo just stood there, wondering how he was able to fade in and out without hurting himself as usual.

DING DONG... DING DONG. Souru got up from his seat and headed to the front door. "Wonder who that could be..."

Souru opened the door. "Hello, how can I he..." Souru paused with shock, not even able to finish his question.

"Souru, is that you? Boy, have you grown up," a man with short brownish hair around twenty-four said. Souru just continued to stand there, looking at the man. "Its been a long time, twenty-some-odd years or so - I can't believe I would see this day," the other man continued.

"It... it can't be... this can't be happening... it's not possible," Souru said to himself.

"Father?" Souru gasped, not believing what was going on.

"Yes, son. It's me, your father. I'm back," the man said to a shocked Souru.

"But... but how... you were killed... I saw you... there's no way you can be alive," Souru said. The vision of what happened when he was younger came into his head as he started to explain what happened. "They burst into the house. We were all downstairs, and you had just sealed me into the secret compartment when they found you and Mother, then they opened fire, killing you both. A few hours later I exited the compartment and came across your bodies... and theress no way you could of survived that." Souru started to get angry, not believing the man before him was his father. "My father was killed by Imperial stromtroopers, so you must be a fake. You bring disgrace to my father for trying to be him. Goodday sir?"

Souru looked the man over, and as he was about to slam the door, the man backhanded him with his right hand, hitting Souru on the right cheek.

"Souy-"

Souru gasped as he heard the name - the name was short for Souru, and his parents called him it all the time.

Souru stood there in shock. "But... but how did you survive the attack?" Souru asked.

Just then, Jaina came down to see what the commontion was all about. "Was all the racket about, Souru?" Jaina asked, then noticed the man outside of the door. "Who's he?"

"Jaina, this is... this is... this is my..."

Isamu cut him off. "My name is Isamu Volvic, ma'am."

Souru finished. "...father."

"He... he's your father? But you said your father died when you were young..." Jaina was as shocked as Souru was eariler.

"Allow me to explain, but first, may I come in?" Isamu asked.

"Alright, come on in," Souru said, opening the door so he could pass by. Several minutes later in the dining room, each person had their own cup of coffee and were drinking at different times as Isamu started.

"Okay, this is what happened..."

"A few days prior to the attack on our house, I set off into space to study an object I had noticed on one of my trips back to the planet. I arrived at the object and began to study it. I took two days of studying until I got I was able to get it open. Well, not really, it actually sucked me in," Isamu told both Jaina and Souru as Apollo stuffed his face with bad-smelling cat food.

"But how - you were on the planet when the attacked happened, you were killed, weren't you?" Souru asked, puzzled.

"A year or so before I left, I took a skin sample off my arm and used it to clone myself. The man you saw gunned down was that clone. I am the real Isamu." Isamu told a stunned Souru.

"You mean...." Souru's anger started to pique. "You mean you left mother and me to die so you could go and study some stupid object in space?!?!" Souru made a fist with his right hand and reared it back and to his right. He then brought it up and let his right fist connect with his father's left cheek, knocking him off his chair and onto the floor, causing Souru to run and skid off upstairs. Jaina gasped as Isamu got up, reared his right fist back and brought it up to Souru's left cheek, causing him to fall back up against the wall.

Souru quickly grabbed at his homemade silver-tinted lightsaber that was on the small table next to him. He ignited it with a snap hiss and the ruby-red blade appeared before him, slightly casting a reddish light over the area. Isamu put his hands up in defeat as Souru stood, his blade pointing at Isamu's throat.

"What do you think you are doing?" Isamu asked in a deeper tone.

"You left your wife and son to die. We were defenseless. If you had stayed mother would still be alive, and my life wouldn't have been so traumatic!" Souru yelled out his reply, and he brought his blade up over his right shoulder. He then jumped forward, bringing the blade slashing down at Isamu's left shoulder. Out of nowhere, the attack was stopped by another ruby-red blade which Isamu had grabbed, ignited and parried the attack in the blink of an eye. Souru flipped over his father, surprised he was able to parry that fast. He deignited his saber, sending the blade back into the handle.

"How, how did you get so good? You weren't that good before..." Souru asked as Isamu deignited his weapon.

"A trick I learned," Isamu grinned.

"I aplogize for hitting and attacking you like that, I just got really... what's the word... oh yeah... pissed," Souru said, then laughed.

"Your power is greater than when you were younger - I could feel your rage and anger," Isamu said in a weird voice. "Interesting."

Everybody sat back down at the table, Apollo slowly returning to his cat food.

"A week or so ago, I felt your power, and it released me from the object I set out to study. You became the Corellian Knight, didn't you?" Isamu asked.

"Yes, Apollo there taught me how. He helped me defeat a demon child that was destroying a city a few miles away. It felt strange, as if I have done that before, but I know I haven't - all I know is that I have these strange dreams of a princess on a faraway world and this grey-skinned man," Souru said as Isamu looked on in amazment.

"So the Corellian Knight lives again. It's been a while - I thought it was only a rumour. What else can you tell me about the dreams?" Isamu wanted to know more about what had happened to Souru and the rumoured Corellian Knight.

"The grey-skinned guy had tall black hair, a cut on his right cheek and wore a weird black set-up. He looked like he was dead, and he was also saying something about being the true Corellian Knight and that I was a fake," Souru told Isamu.

"Kai."

"Kai?"

"Yes, Kai is the rumoured dead man who believes he is the true Corellian Knight. He attacks the real Knight, telling him he is the fake knight and that he is the real one. You must be the destined Corellian Knight," Isamu remembered, having read up on it back when Souru was younger.

"But howcome when I transformed, you were released from that object in space?" Souru was puzzled.

"To be honest, I'm not really sure." Isamu was also puzzled. He then got up and went into the kitchen to get a drink and caught a glimpse of himself in the small mirror on the wall. He noticed a small patch of grey where Souru hit him and a few black hairs seeping out at above his right ear. He quickly left the kitchen and told Jaina and Souru he would be right back and that he was going to the bathroom. Apollo had seen what Isamu was looking at and decided to check in on Isamu using a hiding spot he had found in the vent when Souru tried to swat him with a broom for being a talking cat.

Isamu shut the door behind him and reached up with both hands, put them on his temples, started to peel his face off. Apollo could not see what he was really doing, so he scooted up closer to get a view. In the process, he had made a small noise in the vent, and it alerted Ismau that someone was there. Apollo was shocked at what he saw when Isamu turned around. It was Kai, the dead man, the one who believed he was the real Corellian Knight. Apollo gasped, ran out of his hiding spot and ran down to tell Souru what had happened. Apollo had just finished telling Souru what happened when Isamu came down, looking normal as he had before.

"Sorry, I wasn't feeling good," he said.

"It's over, Kai," Souru stood, lightsaber in hand, blade blazing. "We know who you are, and I will put an end to your miserable life."

Kai ripped off his Isamu costume and tossed it aside. "I will prove to you that I am the real Corellian Knight."

Both men stood looking at each other, Souru with his lightsaber blazing, Kai with his secret wrist blaster ready to fire. Souru jumped towards Kai, and Kai jumped towards Souru. The Battle for Knightship of Corellia had begun.

Kai ducked under Souru, bringing his right fist to connect with Souru's stomach, causing him to fall to the floor in pain, clutching his stomach with his free hand. Kai reared on his right foot as he landed so he could face Souru. He closed his right fist and threw it towards Souru, sending a hook-like object at incredible speed toward Souru's chest. Souru threw his lightsaber to the right as he rolled to the left. Jumping up, Souru called upon the Force to bring his the ruby-red blade back to him. As it got within a foot of his hand, Kai's wrist weapon cut though the air, slicing Souru's left hand up badly and slicing the lightsaber in two. Souru screamed out, his left hand bleeding badly. He held it close to his stomach, out of the reach of Kai's attack. Kai ran towards Souru, but when he got within five feet, he disappeared using the Corellian Knight's fade in-fade out technique. Souru waited and waited, but Kai still hadn't attacked.

Suddenly, Kai faded in behind him and brought his left shoulder down hard on Souru's back. Souru tucked his head in as he fell forward so he would would reduce the risk of hurting his left hand any more. Souru stood, his left side limp, his right side trying to support him so he wouldn't fall again. Kai ran towards Souru again, this time without stopping, and as he passed Souru, Kai brought his left right fist up, and it connected with Souru's nose. It broke on contact. That was the last straw, and Souru fell backwards, landing hard on his back, slightly banging his head on the floor. His nose started to bleed right away.

Apollo, who had been watching the fight, threw himself at Kai's face, claws outstretched. Apollo used his front to claws to bat at Kai's face, leaving welts on both cheeks. Kai brought his left hand up, put it between him and Apollo and pushed outward, throwing Apollo back some twenty feet into the wall, then the floor. Souru watched in pain as Kai knocked the cat against the wall.

"Apollooooooo, noooooo!" Souru screamed out for his guardian cat. There was no response.

Kai realized that what he had done had "pissed" Souru off. Kai took his left foot and placed it on Souru's left hand, applying pressure to the giant wound. Souru screamed out in pain. Suddenly, a bright electric purple beam pushed its way though Kai's stomach. He slumped to his knees, falling face first on the ground. Jaina deignited her lightsaber and ran to Souru.

"Souru! are you okay?!" Jaina asked as she proceeded to pull some bandages from a corner table. She started to wrap up Souru's left hand just as Kai's right hand connected with her right cheek, sending her back a few feet. Kai stood and aimed his wrist weapon towards Jaina.

"Jaina, watch out!!!!!!" Souru yelled out, knowing what Kai was going to do. Kai fired his weapon towards Jaina.

Souru suddenly freaked out as a golden aura surrounded him. It lifted him to a standing postion, slowly letting his feet touch the ground. Souru screamed out, and the aura got stronger; when it died down, Souru was perfectly healed. His left hand, which was badly cut, now sported a leather black glove, along with his right hand. He wore all black with giant grey shoulder pads, his arms covered in the same black leather that covered his hands. He wore a two-inch gold bracelet around each wrist. A giant leather coat covered most of his body - it fell to his feet, wrapping around his legs, but was slightly opened in the front. His legs were covered with black leather. A belt was buckled tightly around his waist and his hair, which was now greyer, stood up on the left side of his head and it all hung down to his knees. His only weapon, a giant sword, a Mesmune, was in its holster on his back. Souru had just transformed into the Corellian Knight for the second time since Apollo showed him how to.

Souru quickly grabbed his sword from its holster and used it to cut down Kai's weapon before it hit Jaina. Before Kai could react, Souru brought his Mesmune up to slice Kai in half from his left hip to right shoulder. He brought it back around to Kai's left shoulder and sliced though to his right hip. What remained of Kai slumped to the floor in a heap and reformed. Kai laughed as he ran for the door, still putting himself together.

"It's not over yet, Souru - I will be the Corellian Knight!" Kai ran off into the blazing sunlight.

Souru walked over to Jaina after transforming back into his normal self and helped her up. Souru remembered about Apollo and ran over to him and picked him up.

"Who, wha, what are you doing?! Can't you see I'm okay now?" Apollo told Souru as he picked him up.

"Sorry, buddy - I thought we lost you there for a minute." Souru hugged the squirming Apollo, then let him down.

"Oh thanks, but next time, remember I don't like that mushy stuff," Apollo told Souru.

"You got it, little buddy," Souru responded as he walked back over to Jaina. She looked mad as she looked around the house.

"Who is going to clean this mess up?!?!?!"

Both Souru and Apollo looked at each other and started to blame it on the other one. Jaina went to the closet and came back with two brooms and two aprons, one bigger then the other. A few hours later, after the house was spotless, both Souru in his apron and Apollo in his little cat apron sat on the couch exhausted.

"Now I know the meaning of taking a fight out side." Souru and Apollo both laughed.
