Because The Sales Were Good That Day

By Mika Kaipi/Sailor Yavin IV

It was a dark and stormy night....

Well, not really, but it makes my story sound cooler in a way. Anyway, let me start from the beginning...

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away....actually, it STARTED right here on good ol' Earth....

"Mika! Someone's on the phone for you!" my mom shouts out from the kithcen.

"Who?" I asked.

"One of your friends!" she shouted back.

"Could you be any more *vague*?" I muttered. I put away my Sailor Moon Manga novel and picked up my Star Wars phone. "Got it!"

"Okay, Mika," my mom said. I heard the click of the other line hanging up and then asked/said "Hello?"

"Hey, odango atama!" an enthusiastic voice shouted out.

"Mako-chan!" I yelled back happily. It was my friend Saria, whom everyone called Makoto or Mako-chan (because her favorite Sailor Senshi is Jupiter or Makoto.) "What's up?"

"That store in the mall has new Sailor Moon tapes and dolls!" she exclaimed happily. "They finally have Sailor MoonS out here!"

"Really? Oh my gosh, I'll be *right* there!" I shouted again.

"Wait, Usa-chan, there's more!" Makoto said hurriedly. "Star Wars action figures are on sale for two for five bucks!"

"Whoa, no way!" I said. "I'll meetcha there!" I hung up the phone, grabbed my homemade Star Wars/Sailor Moon backpack, and ran out of the house without telling mom where I was going.

I ran down the street about ten blocks to the local mall. At a time I swore I felt someone following me, but turning around I saw no one.

A swarm of people surrounded the store, yelling and pushing to get in. I screamed "I'm gonna barf! Get outta the way!" and they believed me. The crowd quickly made room for me to get through.

I met Makoto inside the store next to the Sailor Moon dolls.

"How'd you get through the crowd so fast?" she asked, blinking her green eyes.

"Barf gag," I explained. She laughed and nodded.

"Me too," she admitted sheepishly. "Works wonders. Now, look at *this*." She held up a Sailor MoonS tape. "Ten dollars!"

I tore the tape from her grasp. "Gimme! Mine!" Makoto giggled, holding up another copy of Sailor MoonS.

"I thought so, so I got my own before hand," she said. "Come on, look around, I think I saw a moon wand around here somewhere..."

As she walked off, I heard a whisper. "Psst, Mika. Mika!" I turned around, and ended up facing...

A Queen Amidala cardboard cutout? I must be going crazy. I turned back to look for the moon wand--

"I am talking to you, Mika Kaipi!" someone said hoarsely. I looked back behind me.

The cutout blinked!

"Qu-queen A-a-amidala?" I stuttered. The cutout laughed and began walking around!

"Not quite," she said. "I am Kyoko, a Sailor Jedi, as are you." She returned to being a normal cutout as someone walked by. Who was this person or thing?

"Buy whatever you want, then meet me back at your house to leave to Coruscant."

"But--" Too late; she had already disappeared. What had just happened here? I bought a QA and QGJ figurines, along with a moon wand, five Sailor Senshi dolls, and the Sailor MoonS tape (the sales were good that day). I quickly said goodbye to Mako-chan, then ran back out of the store back home.

Queen Amidala--Kyoko, rather--was in my room awaiting my arrival. She told me of the Star Wars galaxy in need and the Sailor Sith, and that I was a chosen one to help.

"And so, you are Sailor--"

"Yavin? No, Sailor Hoth?" I asked. Kyoko shook her head. "Bakura? Tatooine? No...Dagobah? Wait, I know, Coruscant!"

Kyoko laughed and said "You are Sailor Yavin IV. Use this pen to transform by shouting 'Yavin IV Force Power Make UP!'" I took the henshin stick from her.

"Yavin IV is pretty cool....at least I'm not a Chibi. My dreams could be cooler though if I were Sailor Bakura." I stared at the henshin stick as Kyoko sighed.

"This isn't a dream, Mika. You're Sailor Yavin IV. Go ahead, shout out your morphing phase," Kyoko told me.

"Okay...Yavin IV Force Power....Make UP!" I began swirling around like Sailor Moon, until I stopped with my right arm on my hip and my other making a peace sign by my shoulder. I was wearing a fuku like Sailor Moon with knee high purple boots with a blue stripe on the top. I felt my hair. My odango were still there, with little jewels like Sailor Moon's, only purple. Blue skirt, white jumpsuit, white elbow length gloves with purple ends, purple bow with a blue jewel, and a blue jewel in my tiara.

"Woo hoo! I am a...a...uh, what are we again?" I asked.

"Star Wars Sailor Senshi," Kyoko supplied. Her shape shifted to that of a girl in a red fuku and blue hair. Like Ami's, only in a bun.

"I am Sailor Yavin IV, Protector of Cats and the Clumsy! In the name of Yavin IV, you're punished!" I exclaimed happily. I stepped forward to thank Kyoko and tripped over my Star Wars blanket. "oops."

She shook her head. "You've a lot to learn, Yavin IV. Come along."

"Wait, I gotta tell mom and pack my bag--"

"Your mother already knows, and you don't need to pack anything.

We'll get you set up after you meet everyone at the room-behind-the- waterfall," Kyoko explained.

"Can I please bring along some of my stuff? Pwease?" I begged, making a sad face. Kyoko relented and nodded, but said no Star WArs sztuff as to not confuse the beings born and raised in the Snickers Galaxy, as she called it. There must be a story behind that name. I took my backpack and stuffed in it my toothbrush, some clothes, all my Sailor Moon Manga and figurines, my moon wand and my Sailor Moon tapes.

And that's how I found out I was Sailor Yavin IV. Although, Annika (Bakura) wasn't too happy when she saw I had a VERY similar hairstyle and had wanted to be Sailor Bakura....^_^
