Kousotsu

By Kousotsu Renjiro/Tuxedo Jedi

Kousotsu Renjiro awoke to the sharp sound of an alarm ringing in his ear. With a slight, barely audible curse, he reached over towards the alarm, probing for the off switch. Upon finding it, he pressed it, cutting off the ringing that awoke him. He opened his eyes, and stared at the ceiling. Kousotsu hated Mondays. Monday was the bane of his existance, the one thing he hated most. But being 17 and a senior, this was the last year he would have to worry about getting up early on Mondays. He had vowed not to schedule a class for Monday morning when he went to college next year.

"Get out of bed or you're going to be late to school," Kousotsu's father called.

"It's not like it would be the first time that's ever happened," Kousotsu yelled back.

"I don't care, get up anyways," was the reply he got.

He threw the covers off of himself and stood up out of bed. It was already eight o'clock and Kousotsu's first class began at ten after. He quickly put on his Led Zeppelin shirt and a pair of jeans and ran downstairs to his beat up 1974 Trans-Am convertible. Living in the past, he thought as he turned the key and started the drive to school.

He pulled into the parking lot, Led Zeppelin to match his shirt blasting out of the radio, just as the first bell rang. He quickly parked his car, jumping over the door rather than opening it, and took off running to his first hour government class. As he entered the building and turned the corner into the hall where the classroom was, the second bell went off. Kousotsu saw the door he needed to enter closing. He yelled and tried to get Mr. Leyba to see that he was on his way, but the door continued to close until Kousotsu heard a click and knew that the door was locked, and that he would be counted as absent from his first hour class. Upon being late for his class, Kousotsu was supposed to report to study hall for the period, but he didn't feel like putting up with the grief that he knew he would get for this being his fifth tardy in the semester and decided that he would just skip study hall, and for that matter, the whole day.

As he walked out of the building towards his Trans-Am he realized that he had to stop doing these things if he wanted to be accepted to college. He could do the work, bt he found school so boring that he hated it with a passion. He wondered how he would spend his day, the third day he had cut school during this semester. He remembered the old theatre on Broadway that showed movies the regular theatres had stopped showing, also remembering the movie that was currently showing, Star Wars: Episode 1. Not really a fan of Star Wars, Kousotsu had a thing for Darth Maul. He loved the martial arts, and Maul did some amazing martial arts moves. He started the car again, and drove out of the parking lot on his way to the old theatre.

When he got to the theater, it was closed. He wondered why, it had been open on Monday mornings before. The old man who owned it was a good friend of Kousotsu's although he had never shared his name. As far as he knew, Kousotsu was the only one that ever came to the theatre or talked to the old man. But the place was closed now, and it didn't look like a temporary thing to Kousotsu. The old man was the one that had gotten Kousotsu interested in martial arts and anime. He had also introduced him to Star Wars, and the fighting styles of Darth Maul. Kousotsu couldn't just leave the theatre without finding out why it was closed, and where the old man was. He walked up to the door and tried the handle, but it was locked. The spare key was hidden above the door, in a hole in the back of an old neon sign, and Kousotsu knew this. He reached up, grabbing the key from its resting place and inserted it into the lock, unlocking the door. As he opened the door he knew something was wrong, the old man never turned out all the lights even when he left. Kousotsu walked back to the room where the old man usually lived and found nothing there but a black box sitting on the table in the corner. He touched the box and saw that it was some type of projector. It startled him as it began to hum and projected a beam of red light out into the middle of the room. In the focal point of the light Kousotsu saw what appeared to be some type of hologram of the old man.

"Hello Kousotsu Renjiro. It is I, the old man who once resided in this old theatre. If you are seeing this, then I have passed from this world into the next."

The old man was dead? Kousotsu didn't see a body anywhere and there was no evidence that one had been removed.

The hologram continued, "You may be wondering exactly what I mean. You may think that I have died, and wonder where my body is, or where my funeral will be. I have died in essence, but in reality I have simply become one with the Force."

The Force? Questions were swimming in Kousotsu's head now. Wasn't the Force a thing from Star Wars, as in fiction?

"Yes this is the same force that you have seen in Star Wars. It is not an entirely fictional thing. It is a thing of another world though. I am of that world, not yours. But the world I come from does not resemble only the world of Star Wars, but also the world represented in the Sailor Moon series."

A Star Wars and Sailor Moon crossover? A universe with lightsabers and a Negaverse? Kousotsu was feeling dizzy and sat down on a chair in the room.

"I came to your world to find one that would help our StarMoon Senshi," the hologram continued, oblivious to Kousotsu's confusion. "Similar to Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon, the one I chose must also have the powers of a Jedi. You will see that my black walking stick is still in the corner. It is a lightsaber. Although a Jedi usually builds his own weapon, you will use mine for the time being. You also have many other powers that you will realize when you enter the new universe."

Enter the new universe? I am supposed to be a Tuxedo Jedi in a different universe? What about my family? What about everything here? I think that the old man had flipped his lid when he made this! he thought.

"Nobody you know will have memory of you, and you will cease to exist in this world upon your entering the StarMoon world. You will see also that I have left behind a diamond ring. It is your gateway into the StarMoon world."

This is crazy, I must be asleep! Kousotsu said.

"Press the diamond to the base of the cane and you shall see. Good luck Kousotsu," finished the hologram as it disappeared.

Kousotsu saw the diamond and cane. What have I got to lose?" was the thought that ran through his mind as he placed the diamond in the bottom of the cane. All he saw was a flash of the purest white light.

When he came to, Kousotsu was in a chamber that had many girls, seemingly Sailor Senshi, as well as what appeared to be Jedi, standing around the point where he lay. "Uh, hi," he said.

A man wearing a robe, with what appeared to be a lightsaber hanging from a ring on his hip grabbed Kousotsu's wrist and helped him up. You have much to learn if you are to become Tuxedo Jedi, my friend; the man said as he led Kousotsu down a long hallway, into the halls of the Jedi Temple...
