Jedi Heritage

Written by Kirana/Sailor Omwat

“I think I’ll go to bed early tonight,” Kirana said to no one in particular.

She was met with choruses of “Good night, Kirana.”

Kirana closed the door to her room and sat on her bed. She suddenly did not feel sleepy. Something caught her eye on her desk. It was her lightsaber. She had become increasingly skilled at it, just like her mother told her she would be. Kirana suddenly remembered the day she went to Omwat. It had helped her a lot to see all of her old things. She was remembering more and more.

But one question burned into her mind- her father. She had no idea what happened to him, if he died, or left, or disappeared.

“Oh, Mother,” Kirana whispered. “If only you could help me...”

Kirana had seen her mother, Queen Clovetra, mostly in her dreams. But the last time, Clovetra told Kirana she could never appear to her again.

Kirana turned off the light, got into bed and fell asleep instantly.

She stood in a room full of mists and rainbow lights. Another dream! she thought. The lights bounced off her pearly hair, creating an odd effect.

“Kirana,” said a voice. It was a man’s voice, the most gentle voice she had ever heard.

Kirana spun around. “Who’s there?” she asked.

There stood a tall man from Omwat. He had light blue skin, pearlescent hair, and amber eyes. “I am Morgan Kell,” he said, “and I am your father, Kirana.”

Kirana stood in the same place, rooted to the ground. “You - you are?” Kirana whispered.

Morgan nodded. “Let me tell you a story, Kirana. I was a Jedi Knight, married to your mother. One day there was a battle, and the enemies were coming for her. At the time, she was pregnant with you. I could not let them hurt my wife and her unborn child, so I defended her. They killed me. I saw your mother grieve, and it broke my heart, but there was nothing I could do. I had to let her know I was one with the Light Side of the Force. She understood that, but still never used my name - Kell. She chose to have no last name, for it reminded her of me. Now I see how beautiful, strong, and courageous you are, Kirana, and how much you remind me of my dear Clovetra.”

“I - I understand,” Kirana said. “Thank you for letting me know. I do not know you, but I love you. You... helped me. I love you.”

Then she woke up with a jolt. And was amazed that only a minute had passed! Kirana walked back into the room.

“Did you forget something, Kirana?” asked Kyoko.

Koumi saw the strange expression on Kirana’s face. What happened? she mindspoke.

“I have a story to tell you all,” Kirana said.
