How Myou Got a Chibi

Written by Reikou Myou/Sailor Zonama Sekot

One bright, shiny day, I just happened to get my own Chibi. Only the Chibi wasn't my chibi... but she was mine. Confusing, isn't it? For some reason, the gods of fate sent me my own chibi. On that bright, shiny day I mentioned earlier, the rain poured as I made my way home. More actually, the rain poured as I lolled around the park, not wanting to go home. I love the rain; it's such an easy way to get moisture in my system.

Sitting in the rain, in the dusk, there wasn't any good reason why I should be worried about small children; that's probably why one bit me in the rear, almost literally. I have yet to figure out why a small child was running around the park in the middle of a rainstorm. (I'm leaving it to someone else to figure out why I was lolling around the park in the middle of a rainstorm.)

Back to my chibi... I was luxuriating in a puddle that came up to my waist when I sat in it. (I was about to get up, in case you're wondering.) I was in this puddle and WHOOSH! Right over my left shoulder comes this dirty little bundle of hair. Beautiful red-brown hair but still dirty hair. (And that thing could kick!) But she ended up in my lap. And I was having a nice afternoon! (Not to whine or anything...)

After some intense negotiations, we decided to go back to the Jedi Temple. Or I decided we would go back to the Jedi Temple. Being the person I am, the first thing on my agenda was giving this little mudball a bath. She had other ideas... other very messy ideas that I did not look forward to cleaning up. I do enough housework with Priire and Aisu around. But more about that later...

After about an hour of trying to get this little chick into the bathtub, I figured it was easier to talk Eki out of his pool for her bath. She did agree to get into Eki's pool (and he agreed to get out), but NO soap! NO shampoo! NO washcloth! (How do you get a child properly clean without any of that stuff? I was pretty stumped, too; but this little chickie figured it out. Something to do with water pressure.)

While she was in the bath and Eki was making sure she didn't end up belly up, so to speak, I went off to find some towels. As I sneaked into Priire's room to "borrow" a few of her towels, I was thanking the troll gods (or whoever they are) that everyone had gone to see Nom in a dress at Annika's charity pageant; so no one was around to see me stealing towels and bathing an ungodly little mess.

After her bath, she turned out to be really pretty. But she wouldn't tell me who she was besides her first name, Auria. Okay, that's great, but who cares? When I need to figure this stuff out, the Force is always a nice option, but the Force isn't a database. What the Force did tell me was that she was a Sailor Jedi, and she had come from the future to find her mother and what the Force called her komori. Why she was looking for her babysitter, I have no idea. She blocked off her Force abilities after I figured this out and demanded food. So we went to find some food.

The only thing I could find was syrup (blame Priire) and tuna salad (blame Miyuki). Auria opted for the tuna salad... why I have no clue. I personally find the stuff gross, but we don't need to get into what I eat or how. She was still blocking her presence in the Force while she ate. (Need I mention that doing that will drive a person wild? I cannot stand it when I can't feel someone in the Force. Obnoxious.) The little girl didn't take long to fill up. Then she voluntered a little information about her past.

Basically, she was from the future. She had come to this time with a mission; what it was, she wouldn't say. In the future, she had been part of an underground resistance. Again, against what, she wouldn't say. She was really frustrating me, and I think she figured that out after I started trying to meditate and take my mind off her. So she told me the story of her birth. Her real mother was dead; as she was dying, she grabbed the hand of the woman who became her "komori." In that one moment before her mother died, a spark passed through the two women. With that spark, she was conceived. The woman who carried her lived here, in the past with me.

Needless to say, I was blown away. You could have held a podrace in that kitchen, and I wouldn't have noticed. Why? Well, this chick didn't look like any of the senshi that didn't have chibis. And the ones that did have chibis lived! What was going on? This did not sound good at all.

Suddenly, I didn't feel good about this child. Mentally, I ran through who had chibis... Priire - check... Yuki - check... Annika - close enough... Nom - check... ARG! And that little girl just sat there, with a look of almost-triumph on her face. I just focused the Force... breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out. Then she got off her chair and walked over to me. Taking my hand, she looked into my eyes and said, "Myou? I know who my komori is. And she is a sailor senshi. I am Chibi Endor; don't worry so much about hiding your Force!"

With that, she stepped back and took a small shell from around her neck. "Obeir l'eau!" was all she said. The kitchen looked almost like it was underwater, with a heavy wind blowing. Auria stepped out of the ball of wind in the middle as a senshi. She smiled and very quietly explained what she controlled; she was senshi of mystery and guardian of the wind and the waves. All were fitting; unfortunately, I really don't like mysteries when they concern me. That little kid most have figured something out.

She didn't say anything. Neither of us did; I got up to clear the table and wash the dishes. She only watched. And watched. And watched. Quietly, softly, lovingly, she started speaking through the Force. Her "thoughts" flowed, in a gentle way. She was telling me about her favorite things; why she like swimming so much... and where she wanted to visit... and why she liked music... where she was going to play next... her dream of flying. It was comforting and simple. I could live forever listening to someone "talk" like that.

I started feeling a loss in the Force; something was coming... something bad. There wasn't a hole; just a dip. Something not right. Auria must not have felt it, as she kept "talking" about her favorite things. Then one word... one tiny word... came at the end of one of her excited ramblings about the ocean. That one word changed everything. When I heard it, the bowl in my hand went crashing to the floor. The thought that Nom was going to kill me ran through my head, but nothing mattered at that point.

Mom.

When things come together, life isn't always pretty. Even though I knew I would die, I didn't think someone would tell me when. Now, I have some inkling as to how the Earth-born senshi feel. With my slight knowledge of my future, I am only glad I know that tiny bit. If I was given a chance, I wouldn't learn more. And for some reason, the gods of fate chose to give me a chibi that one day that was mine... but she wasn't. And I love her all the more for it.
